HSDC Rendering Day Hosted at BGSU

One month into this year's High School Design Competition, we’ve received interest from new school districts and students are diligently working on their designs. It's not too late to sign up for the competition. Students and instructors have until Friday, February 7 to register.

On Friday, February 21 @ 12pm, the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design at BGSU will once again host Rendering Day for participating students. Architect and teaching professor, Scot MacPherson, AIA, will share guidance on how students can best graphically represent their design. Judges and award sponsors, GEM, EDGE, Focused 3D and the Toledo Design Collective, will also be in attendance to share their knowledge and guidance with students.

Students will register for Rendering Day via their school district. If you have any questions, please contact the HSDC Committee. Learn about this year's project and our client, Aurora Project, here

ABOUT HSDC

Originally started in 1950 with 23 entries from three high schools, the competition has grown to as many as 206 entries from as many as 25 area high schools. Projects have been as varied as a parking lot office (1950), a Toledo Automotive Museum (1999), a fast-food restaurant (1977), and a community center (2023).

AIA Toledo's HSDC is a nationally recognized award-winning program, which is the longest running program of its kind in the history of the AIA. AIA Toledo members and advisors are extremely proud of the students’ accomplishments each year.
