AIA Toledo Recognizes Outstanding Student Design at BGSU

AIA Toledo is proud to sponsor the BGSU Architecture Student Awards, recognizing excellence in student design work. These long-standing awards have been part of our chapter’s legacy for over twenty years and is an essential investment in the region’s continued growth.

The Master of Architecture award was presented during Design Day at Bowling Green State University, an annual showcase celebrating the best student work across the School of the Built Environment. Blake Dippold was selected as this year’s recipient for his outstanding master’s project in ARCH 6911. Julie Apt, AIA, 2023 Architect of the Year, and Jake Miley, AIA, served as Co-Chairs of the 6-member jury panel. The award was presented by Paul Sieben, FAIA Emeritus, AIA Toledo Vice President.

On Saturday, April 25, all three senior design studios presented their capstone projects during an open gallery at Kokosing Hall. AIA Toledo members, BGSU faculty, and invited guests engaged with students to learn more about their designs and cast votes for project awards and recognitions. AIA Toledo is proud to recognize Jackson Plante with an Honor Award for his project, as well as Victoria Reed and Andrew Krolak with Citation Awards for their outstanding work.

Sponsorship of these awards underscores our commitment to supporting emerging professionals and strengthening the pipeline of architectural talent in northwest Ohio. Congratulations to all students.
