AIA Toledo Receives AIA Matching Scholarship Grant
Investing in Future Architects, One Scholarship at a Time
AIA Toledo is proud to announce that we have been awarded a 2024 Matching Scholarship Grant from The American Institute of Architects (AIA). This national grant program supports AIA components that offer scholarships to students enrolled in NAAB-accredited architecture programs by matching the component’s financial awards, amplifying the impact for future design professionals.
Thanks to this generous support from AIA National, AIA Toledo is able to increase the scholarship funding tied to our High School Design Competition (HSDC). The additional funds will be awarded to two 2024 HSDC student participants: Holli Torok and Gavin McAfee. Each student will receive an extra $750 to support their continued architectural education.
Holli Torok, a 2024 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, participated in the HSDC for two consecutive years. She is now studying architecture at the University of Kentucky College of Design.
Gavin McAfee, also a 2024 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, participated in the HSDC during his senior year and is now pursuing architecture at the University of Cincinnati.
AIA Toledo is honored to play a role in encouraging and supporting these aspiring architects as they continue in their academic and professional journeys. We extend our gratitude to AIA National for their investment in local talent and our shared commitment to building a strong future for the profession.
